The main reactor, the fusion containment chamber that is capable of containing a plasma medium of 10 to 15 million degrees is made of non-magnetic stainless steel as are many of the components. The AU200-170×170 stage is a low profile stage measuring just 108 mm (2.252 in) high with a compact footprint (including the motors) of 458.5 mm x 458.5 mm (18.032 in.) The linear travel of the X and Y axes is 170mm x 170mm (6.692 in.), and the resolution of each axis is 20 microns (non-micro-step) or 1 micron (20 micro-steps per step motor driver in use), repeatability is 2 microns, and the positional accuracy is 3 microns. The 4 mm per-turn lead screws have just 2 microns of backlash and the stages have preloaded V-groove and crossed roller bearings contributing to the high precision and stiffness of the AU200-170×170 Stage. Designed for applications such as: alignment, assembly, laser drilling, machining, medical, industrial, semiconductor handling, testing, scanning, and optical applications, this compact, low profile black anodized aluminum XY stage is easy to integrate into new or existing systems.

The XY stage’s table measures 300 mm x 300 mm (11.8 in x 11.8 in.) and features a precision pattern of drilled and threaded mounting holes to facilitate the addition of tooling or fixtures. Additionally a table with a large open aperture is also available.

The standard two-phase (1.8o) stepper motors have knobs for manual adjustments of each axis of the stage, however, the knobs can be replaced with incremental encoders for position verification or closed loop operation. The linear travel of the X and Y axes is 100mm x 100mm (3.937 in. x 3.937 in.), and the resolution of each axis is 20 microns (non-micro-step) or 1 micron (20 micro-steps per step motor driver in use), repeatability is 2 microns, and the positional accuracy is 3 microns. The stages have preloaded V-groove and crossed roller bearings and ground 4 mm per-turn lead screws having just 2 microns of backlash, all contributing to the high precision and stiffness of the AU200-100×100 Stage. Mask Aligner for Laser Microstructuring

High-precision positioning in semiconductor technology

The mask system provides the fine adjustment and exact alignment of exposure masks in semiconductor lithography. The XY theta adjustment has three linear axes (two vertical and one horizontal) and has a parallel kinematic structure. The two vertical axes generate vertical stroke (same movement) as well as rotation (opposite movement). Parallel alignment of the three drives enables movement in three degrees of freedom; mechanical redundancy in determination is thus ruled out.

Special materials for use in demanding environments

The mask system was specially developed for use under ultraviolet radiation and in an ultra-dry nitrogen atmosphere. These specific environmental conditions require special materials and lubricants. Thus, to minimize stray radiation, all structural parts are coated with a Bilathal coating that absorbs ultraviolet radiation. It also uses a highly specialized lubricant based on perfluoropolyether. PFPE oil exhibits excellent chemical stability and extremely low outgassing even under ultraviolet radiation. It is also thermally stable, non-flammable and insoluble in water, acids, bases and most organic solvents.

Optimized maintenance concept

For maintenance, the system can be moved laterally out of the optical axis into service positions. A magnetically pre-stressed quick-change mechanism provides quick and easy replacement of the mask in just a few steps when necessary. Maintenance of the motors and initiators, which are designed as exchangeable modules, is just as uncomplicated

Using voice coil motors, instead of 3-phase brushless linear motors, significantly reduced the overall size, weight, and cost of the system.

The VCS20-20-03-MC-01-XYZ is a closed loop voice coil driven XYZ positioning stage. It is ideal for three axis positioning applications. It uses H2W voice coil motors NCC20-18-020-1A (XY Horizontal Axis) and NCC03-15-050-2X (Vertical Z-Axis). The XY Horizontal Axis motors have a 2.00″ [50.8 mm] stroke; generate 2.0 lbs [8.9 N] of continuous force and 6.0 lbs [26.7 N] of peak force. The Vertical Z-Axis motor has a 0.25″ [6.4 mm] stroke; generates 5.0 lbs [22.3 N] of continuous force and 15.0 lbs [66.8 N] of peak force. The 1.0-micron resolution encoders allow for precise positioning. It comes supplied with precise linear bearings that allow for smooth and rigid motion. The motor coil is the moving part of the assembly in order to reduce the moving mass of the system. Power is supplied to the motor via a high flex, high reliability flat ribbon cable.

[318mm] for each axis. This compact, low profile dual axis stage measures 17.0 in. x 19.0 in. [432 mm x 483 mm] and is just 4.2 in. [108 mm] high. The stages are driven by brushless linear motors which are guided by precision recirculating linear ball bearing blocks and rails. Each axis incorporates 1 micron resolution linear encoders for position feedback. The dual axis system can also be supplied with fully integrated electronics to operate the stage under synchronized dual axis closed loop motion control. Santa Clarita, CA —– Linear Motion control – H2W introduces its latest custom XY voice coil positioning stage (VCS08-700-08/350-AB-01-MC-XY) which is guided by precision air bearings. This minimizes the amount of friction and reduces the pitch, yaw, and roll in the system. The stage is driven by three NCC series moving coil type linear actuators which are guided by parallel air bearing shafts. It is operated under closed loop position control. This system was designed specifically for an accelerometer testing application.

It includes a 1 micron resolution linear encoder on each linear motion control axis and is ideal for high force low velocity ripple positioning applications. Each voice coil has a 0.80 in [20.3 mm] stroke; generate 35 lbs [159 N] of continuous force and 105 lbs [477 N] of peak force, or a combined 70 lbs [318 N] continuous force and 210 lbs [953 N] of peak force on the bottom axis. Voice coil positioning stages are ideal for applications that require quick, short moves with fast settling times.

Santa Clarita, CA — A New high precision, high speed two axis voice coil positioning stage featuring 0.1 micron resolution encoders for high accuracy and repeatability is available from H2W Technologies. “Voice coil” or “Moving coil” motors are recognized for their low moving mass and high acceleration/deceleration. Therefore voice coil driven positioning stages are ideal for short stroke, closed loop, applications requiring high resolution, and high acceleration/deceleration control. Typical applications can include: Semiconductor testing and assembly, inspection and test, laser micromachining, and applications in research laboratories, and manufacturing, medical, and defense industries.

This compact two axis voice coil driven positioning stage (shown) features a 25 mm x 25 mm (1 in. x 1 in.) stroke, high precision cross roller stages, and two voice coil actuators in parallel driving the bottom stage to double the load and acceleration/deceleration capabilities. Continuous force (top axis) is 10.2 N (2.3 lbs) and 30,7 N (6.9 lbs) peak. The bottom axis has a continuous force of 20.5 N (4.6 lbs) and 61.4 N (13.8 lbs) peak. This two axis positioning stage can be driven with standard DC servo or DC linear amplifiers and a two-axis programmable motion controller.

Pre drilled mounting holes in the base and stage allow for easy installation in new or existing applications. Additionally, voice coil stages are available with strokes of 6.4 mm (0.25 in.) to 76 mm (3.0 in.) and with continuous force to 445 N (100 lbs), peek to 1335 N (300 lbs). Custom Voice Coil stages from H2W Technologies are available as complete plug-and-play positioning systems. Totally custom systems can be shipped in 3 to 4 weeks from receipt of order.

NEW, COMPACT MOTION CONTROL SERIES KT X-Y STAGE FROM STEINMEYER!

BURLINGTON, MA, FEBUARY 23, 2011 –Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new precision, high performance, motion control X-Y stage. The compact KT-EDLM series consists of a 3-piece XY stage driven by synchronous ironless linear motors. Due to its high precision and outstanding dynamic performance this new stage is ideal for demanding positioning applications including:

– high speed inspection systems

– robotics assemblies

– dispensing systems

– gene chip production equipment.

The KT-EDLM stage is available in three sizes with travels of 110 x 110, 210 x 210 or 320 x 320 mm. Positioning accuracy is 3 microns per 100 mm travel with repeatability of +/- 0.5 microns. Straightness and flatness is 2 microns per 100 mm travel. The X and Y axes are driven by ironless electrodynamic linear motors with maximum acceleration of 7 m/s² to 10 m/s² and velocity of 400 mm/s to 600 mm/s. Options include an electromagnetic brake and an integrated controller (inside the stage). A separate motion controller is also available based on customer specifications.
