The HVCM-051-038-019-01 DC Voice Coil Servo Motor has a continuous force rating of 4.2 lbs (18.8 N) and a peak force of 13.4 lbs (59.5 N) at a 10% duty cycle. Capable of high acceleration, deceleration, high speed, and zero cogging, this linear actuator has zero backlash when connected directly to a load. The 0.75 in. (19.1 mm) open aperture and smooth motion is ideal for focusing of optics or laser beams, illumination, and passage of cables and vacuum lines. It is also ideal for applications such as: Laser drilling, cutting, welding, and machining, medical diagnostic equipment, testing, optical focusing, laser beam steering, wafer handling, dynamic vibration absorption, assembly, and positioning applications.

Motion Control – XYZ Axis Voice Coil Actuator

Van Nuys, CA – Moticont has released a new three axis XYZ linear actuator the XYZ-10. The X and Y axes of the actuator each has a 0.97 in. (24.6 mm) of travel and the Z axis has a stroke of 0.500 in. (12.7 mm).

The high speed, high acceleration, zero cogging, brushless voice coil motors provides 6.3 lbs (28.2 N) of force and peak forces of 20.0 lbs (89.9 N) at a 10% duty cycle for the X and Y axes. The Z axis linear actuator has a continuous force of 21.2 oz (5.9 N) and 67.0 oz (18.6 N) peak force.

Built to order, a user can select from any combination of linear stages with travel lengths of 15 mm, 30 mm, 50 mm, and 75 mm for both the X and Z axes that feature high precision 1 mm per turn lead screws, and if required travel lengths over 100 mm are also available. Additionally, any of three goniometers with +/-10, +/-15, +/-45 degrees of travel can be selected and mounted in a horizontal (pictured) or vertical orientation.

Additionally, four motor options are the: -01 version which has Stepper Motor driven axes, -02 version has Three Phase-Servo Motor driven Axes, -03 version has DC Servo Motor Driven Axes and -04 version has Stepper Motor Driven Axes with Quadrature Optical Encoders for position verification.

The SDLM-051-095-01-05 is a powerful, compact linear actuator measuring just 2.00 in. (50.8 mm) in diameter and 3.75 in. (95.3 mm) long. It has a 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) stroke and features a resolution of 5 microns (0.000197 in.).

The integral, linear optical quadrature encoder is directly connect to the shaft for the greatest possible bandwidth and accuracy and is protected by the housing. This fully enclosed linear motor features a continuous force rating of 7.6 lbs (33.9 N) and a peak force of 24.1 lbs. (107.2 N) at 10% duty cycle.

The LVCM-013-008-02M Linear Voice Coil motor, also known as a moving coil motor, is only 12.7 mm (0.500 in.) in diameter. The stroke length is 3.175 mm (0.125 in.) and the length at mid-stroke is just 12.7 mm (0.50) in. long. However, this new miniature voice coil motor has a high force-to-size ratio with a continuous force of 0.86 N (3.1 oz) and a peak force of 2.73 N (9.8 oz).
