Motion Control – Miniature Metric Voice Coil Motor!

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control – Moticont has introduced a new miniature metric linear voice coil motor! The LVCM-013-008-02M Linear Voice Coil motor, also known as a moving coil motor, is only 12.7 mm (0.500 in.) in diameter. The stroke length is 3.175 mm (0.125 in.) and the length at mid-stroke is just 12.7 mm (0.50) in. long. However, this new miniature voice coil motor has a high force-to-size ratio with a continuous force of 0.86 N (3.1 oz) and a peak force of 2.73 N (9.8 oz).

The rigid black anodized aluminum alloy frame of the three-axis gimbal mount handles loads to 10kg (22.5 lbs) and has the clearance (300 mm x 300 mm, 11.8 in. x 11.8 in.) necessary for mounting lasers, cameras, optics, and instrumentation for pointing, scanning, tracking, positioning, and other applications.

Joint 6 multi-rotation with cartesian moves

Although rotating Joint 6 beyond the ±180° has always been possible with the Meca500 R3, it was limited to Joint-move-commands. With this new firmware, both point-to-point and linear commands can now be used outside of this limit. Apart from the benefit of no longer being limited in Cartesian space and requiring switching to Joint commands, new applications are now easier to implement directly with the Meca500.

To Complement LM76’s broad range of Linear Bearings that are FDA/UDSA/3A Dairy compliant, as well as linear bearings for extreme environments; they have added Deep Groove bearings which accommodate radial and axial loads, Angular Contact bearings for simultaneously handling radial and axial loads, Spherical Bearings which are self aligning, and Thrust Bearings for high axial loads. The AU200-15×15-01 Motorized Stage (pictured) and the AU200-15×15-04 Motorized Stage are powered by Two-Phase Stepper Motors and have high 0.25 micron resolution and high 1.5 micron repeatability.

The AU200-15×15-04 stage includes Quadrature encoders for position verification. Both stages have a large 3.54 in. x 3.54 in. (90 mm x 90 mm) platform with large open aperture and feature standard 1 mm-per-turn ground lead screws, and precision V-grove and Cross Roller guides.

Motion Control – Miniature Hollow Core Rotary Stage

This high precision miniature size rotary stage is just 35 mm (1.378 in.) high and the footprint including the standard 2-phase 1.8 degree stepper motor is only 58 mm (2.283 in) by 100.5 mm (3.957 in ). The table has a precision pattern of 6 8-M2x4L threaded mounting holes in the rotary table for fixtures or tooling, and an 8 mm (0.315 in) diameter through hole. Countersunk holes in the base allow for easy unobstructed integration into new and existing applications.
