Motion Control – Open Frame Solenoids

Motion Control – Van Nuys, CA – The S-18-100 Series of Open Frame Pull Type Solenoids from Magnetic Sensor Systems (MSS) includes 18 different solenoids to select from based on the Voltage, Duty Cycle, Attractive Force (up to 100 oz) and Stroke requirements of the user. MSS Solenoid coils typically utilize 23 to 40 AWG (American Wire Gauge) windings with Class “F” insulation for better protection of the solenoid during longer duty cycles.

The S-18-100 Series solenoids are 1.000 in. wide x 0.84 in. high x 1.74 long and have a 1.00 stroke. The noncaptive plunger or actuator is 0.312 in. in diameter with a clevis end for load attachment.

Linear Motion Actuator – 1.0 Inch Diameter Voice Coil Motors!

Van Nuys, CA – Linear Motion Actuator – Moticont has added to it’s line of Linear Voice Coil Motors, LVCM, two 1.000 in. (25.4 mm) diameter motors. The LVCM-025-022-01 has a stroke length of 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.30 in. (33 mm) and it has a high force to size ratio of 16.9 oz (4.7 N) and a peak force of 53.5 oz. (14.9 N) at 10% duty cycle. The LVCM-025-029-01 has a stroke length of 0.625 in. (15.9 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.68 in. (43 mm) with a continuous force of 18.2 oz (5.1 N) and a peak force of 57.7 oz. (16.0 N) at 10% duty cycle.

These compact, high-force-to-size ratio linear motion actuators are ideal for: work holding and clamping, medical devices, assembly, testing, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, optical focusing, dynamic vibration absorption, scanners and laser beam steering and filtering.

Clean non-commutated, zero cogging, zero backlash voice coil motors (also referred to as linear actuators) are, efficient, brushless high speed linear servo motors.

This LVCM-095-038-01 Linear Servo is 3.75 in. (95.3 mm) in diameter and has a continuous force of 23.1 lb. (102.7 N) and a peak force of 73.1 lb. (324.4 N) at a 10% duty cycle.

XYZ-Theta – Hybrid Radial Bearings

E. Longmeadow, MA – — Motion Control – CeramicSpeed Insulated ball bearings are custom made for electrical motors and your guarantee against damage caused by stray currents.

The ceramic balls used for this product series are non-conductive and have an insulating ability of 15 kV per mm – higher than that of atmospheric air.

Bearings from competing manufacturers with an insulating coating typically have an insulating ability of up to 1 kV; provided that the coating is not damaged – for example when the bearing is mounted. In practice this protection isn’t always sufficient, meaning that these bearings are also vulnerable to damage by stray currents.

In addition to being protected from the passage of electrical currents, the operating temperature is 10-20 °C lower, and the resulting is a bearing life typically 4-8 times longer than traditional steel bearings.

Motion Control – Linear Optical Encoder Modules!

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control Components – Moticont has released their OEM-00125U-01 Linear Optical Encoder Module and LS-00125U-01 Linear Scale. The compact linear encoder module measures just 51.5 mm (2.027 in.) long by 5.99 mm (0.236 in.) wide by 0.8 mm (0.073 in.) high. This high, 1.25 micron resolution, low power encoder module features TTL Quadrature Outputs and requires only a single +3.3 or +5 VDC supply.

The LS-00125U-01 Linear Scale supplied is only 6 mm (0.24 in.) wide by 0.3 (0.01 in.) high and would be attached to a flat surface using PSA adhesive. The standard scale length is 76.2 mm (3.00 in.) long. The linear scale is available with lengths up to 610.0 mm (24.00 in.). The quadrature signals are output differentially. The module also features a TTL level HOME output.
